Antimatter Charge

It Came and Will Go

So the plugin hit the big 1.0, and I didn’t make a post about it. It also occured to me to test the plugin in a free webhosting service…only to realize that my plugin has a fundamental flaw. It isn’t really the plugin’s fault, it was my lack of foresight. I didn’t seem to think that different servers will of course have different settings. I had a funny feeling about the function used to move uploaded temporary files, and I suppose I figured what that is now.

So 1.0 came, and it will go to make way to 1.1, which has a different uploading method which hopefully will work with all servers that has file_upload in their PHP configuration turned on.

Version 0.2b is live!

There had been many significant changes to the codes. You can find the changelog for it here: http://antimatter-charge.com/projects/chibipaint/#Changelog

This time, it relies more on wordpress functions to do the work. Images will get reported properly in the media library so you can make basic editing changes to it from there. Enjoy!

Testing Chibipaint for Wordpress on Wordpress MU

I know that this version will be merged with Wordpress itself, but in case anyone wants to use it for their current Wordpress μ (mu). I feel it’d be wise to cover that until they do merge it…then there’ll be more testing to ensure that it works.

The reason that it needs to be tested is because the plugin only works if the user has admin level rights. So would that mean only people who have the capabilities to create new blog can use this plugin? Or people who have access to their own blog can use it?

Whatever the answer is, the feature to control at what level the user has to be to use the plugin can be changed in the options menu might be added, depending on how feasible it is. If anyone can provide tips on how to do it without reinventing the wheel, leave a comment and let me know.

Edit: is_admin determines whether or not you’re in the admin section, not your user level. User level restrictions has to be executed after the plugin’s loaded. The plugin becomes available to all blogs unless the plugin menu is available to each blogs (set by the site admin). Since user levels are used with single installs, I don’t think there’ll be much problem with making the plugin work with the next version.

Chibipaint for Wordpress @ Wordpress.org

The plugin is now available via wordpress.org’s plugin svn. You can download it at http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/chibipaint-for-wordpress/ or go to your Plugins > Add New and search for chibipaint.

Enjoy as I make UI and functional changes (including mass deletion) and probably code clean-up. If you guys find any of my codes repeating something that wordpress already has a command for, let me know.

Chibipaint for Wordpress 0.1b is Live!

After a couple of weeks of work, the plugin is finally done. It’s currently undergoing beta and I’m attempting to get it added to the Wordpress Plugin SVN. If you find any bugs with this plugin, please let me know.

The readme.txt included contains a lot of information on how the plugin works. Please let me know of any omissions.

This plugin integrates Chibipaint with Wordpress. Most of the work is on the backend, allowing the user to create and edit drawings uploaded straight onto the server. The media popup tab component was from WP Shi-Painter, so I won’t take credit for the idea. The implementation did require perusing wordpress core files, though.

Please refer to this page for the download link and other information

Again, if you have any trouble with the plugin, please let me know.

Welcome

Hello everyone. This is the future site for my design portfolio. However, I’m also using this space for publicly available projects.

The design of this site will change soon.
